Project Hail Mary completely blew me away - it’s my first foray into sci-fi, and what a way to start! Andy Weir hooked me from the very beginning with a mix of clever science, suspense, and humour. The story is thrilling, and the stakes feel enormous, yet it never loses its heart or humanity.

Ryland Grace is such a fantastic protagonist. He’s smart, relatable, and funny, and I loved how Weir balances his moments of panic with his dry wit. The relationships and interactions - especially the unexpected ones - added so much warmth and depth to a story that’s also packed with tension and high-stakes problem solving.

I must give a special shoutout to the audiobook - listening to it was an absolute must for me. The narrator brings so much life and personality to the story, making the science and the suspense even more engaging. I can’t imagine experiencing it any other way.

Overall, this book completely converted me into a sci-fi fan. It’s clever, heartwarming, thrilling, and funny all at once, and I can’t wait to see what else Andy Weir writes.
